Hey everyone! Pinki here, I just wanted to let you all know that MSU is meant to be a fun place for everyone to hang out at. So let’s lay down some ground rules shall we?
General Rules
Joining Rules
Horses
Life in the University
Dorm Rules
That's all there is for now. Updates will come soon.
Just obey the rules and we'll all have a great time!

General Rules
- Respect all players. They are just here to have a good time just like you. In character, if your person is a little disrespectful then that's allowed. Just don't let it get out of hand. Walking around and bad mouthing teachers is a sure fire way to get yourself warned. However, Out of Character disrespect will find yourself in a heap of trouble and possibly banned.
- Please use some common sense when posting. Usually if it wouldn't be accepted in real life, then it most likely wouldn't be accepted in game life either.
- I have a very simple posting requirement. 200 words. It's not a lot, and anyone can achieve it. If you find yourself short on words then describe the scenery, or the characters emotions. Resort to the 5 sense's also. It’s a great way to turn a crappy 100 word post into a magnificent piece of work.
- Tying in with the last rule, Just because the posting requirement is 200 words, doesn't mean you have to limit yourself. Feel free to post as many words as you can. I encourage it actually! The more the better! ;D
- I do have a max character limit of 6 people. If for some reason you already have 6 and you want more then send Pinki a message asking politely. If she deems you worthy and capable of handling more characters then and only then may you create more.
- You are required to make a new account for every character you want. This makes my job a little easier, and that way you can keep track of your characters better as well. After creating the account, please change the name to your characters first and last name.
- MSU is purely from my imagination. It is a College Equine studies University, so please try to keep the ages of students over 18. We don't want a ton of 7 year old super genius's running around college campus. If you truly do have your heart set on a younger character then pm Pinki and she will make a decision on it. The password for the Joining board is saddleup (all lower case).
- While you may wish to role-play more explicit things or hint at them make sure to keep it all PG-13. Also make sure you do not violate the proboards ToS.
- While your character may have a troubled past (or even present), we must also make sure this is kept PG-13 as per required by the proboards ToS.
- As for posting, until you are accepted by staff then you cannot post anywhere but the ooc forums.
- Please don't pester other members about replying to your thread. We all have lives outside of the game and sometimes we can't make it online immediately. Real lives take precedence over role playing.
- On that same note, If you are going to go on vacation or won't be able to make it online for awhile, be polite and let everyone know if you can by making a post in the Vacations forum. That way anyone in a post with you isn't waiting around impatiently for a reply while you’re on spring break in the Bahamas or something.
- Please keep the images in your signature around 500 px wide. It helps to prevent our pages from stretching and taking a long time to load. A good size to go off of is 500px X 400px
- Also being literate is nice. It's not hard to slap a post in Microsoft Word and spell check it. Also try to keep in mind proper grammar and punctuation.
- Other Pets are allowed at MSU but for now were going to keep it fairly limited to dogs, cats, and fish. If you desire some other kind of pet then send a pm to Pinki and if she agrees on the pet then you may make one. These new pets hold the same rule as horses when it comes to flaws. No one's perfect.
- As per usual in rpg's, No power playing or god moding. It will result in a warning.
Joining Rules
- In order to join the fun here at MSU, you must first fill out the Joining application completely and be accepted by one of the lovely staff.
- Characters and Horses may be any age or gender that you want but be reasonable. We are trying to make this site at least mostly realistic.
- Tying into the last rule, make them realistic. Everyone has flaw and personality issues. So, no perfect characters.
- As for pictures, please respect the stock holder’s rights. If you haven't edited the image then only post the url. And remember not to use images that the stock holder doesn't want used. Also, always give them credit, they work so hard to make sure that we have beautiful images to look at that it sucks when someone steals one and claims it as their own. I will keep an updated list of all the taken names and taken celebrity images under the Need to Know board.
- You may only join as humans. Any horses are role played by their owners unless otherwise specified. (I.e. if you want another member to play the horse your character is riding.) If you choose to have your character ride one of the school horses then make sure you read the school horse’s bio. Nobody’s perfect, so if the school horse you are riding is difficult then it will not instantly behave for your character.
- Once your character is accepted, it is your job to keep track of them. Keep a thread in the Character Vault if you want.
- Also, try to keep the Male:Female ratio fairly even, it’s not required but makes the role play more fun. I will keep an up-to-date count of the ratio posted.
- Keep in mind that not everyone at college is rich families. Yes MSU is meant to be an Ivy League college, but that doesn't mean there can't be middle class, scholarship, or grant students attending too. Try not to make every student rich. And to make a basis to start from, the Blake family is one of the wealthiest families in the US.
Horses
- Each character may have a maximum of 3 horses. But remember, Not everyone can afford to have a horse, let alone 3. So be realistic when it comes to horses.
- No perfect horses are allowed. Give them some personality, some flaws, something to set them apart from the crowd. And now strange stats. We don't allow really tall ponies or strange colors.
- Try to keep the Stallion ratio down. Most horses are geldings or mares, their just much more common then stallions.
- The Horses can't be ridden until they are at least 2 years old, and they will be green at first so you must but experienced or have an experienced rider smooth them out.
- If you want to breed your horse then it is up to you to find the required dam and stud and talk it over with the owner. You may then do a breeding post with the 2 horses. It must be kept decent just like everything else in the game. You then post the stats of the Sire and Dam and Pinki will determine the foal’s stats. You may make requests but no promises. The pregnancy must last a week at least but longer if you want. After that you may have a birthing post.
- If you wish to bring in a new horse to a character you already have in the game then you should pm Pinki and she will either approve or deny your request.
- The school horses take up stalls 1-40 in the main barn. All boarding horses will be placed in the next available stall. The only exception to that rule is stallions. We will ensure that there is a stall between 2 stallions to reduce fights.
Life in the University
- You are responsible for your own characters classes, No one else will be keeping track for you. You don't have to post every single class nor do you have a schedule but if you want to post a class every once in awhile then feel free. Your character is responsible for their homework and grades, but no perfect students please. Everyone gets a bad grade at least once.
- Life is not always smiles and butterflies, nor is it always going to be drama central, so mix it up some. It's like college people!
- If you want a riding lesson for your character or a training session for an upcoming show then you are responsible for rping the trainer or finding someone to rp the trainer. Remember, you’re responsible for all the teachers, trainers, and adults that you wish to involve in your post. The only exception to that rule is Amber and Sam, Pinki will be playing them. If you wish to rp with one of them then send her a pm and discuss the idea. Then be sure to put her name in the topic so she knows to respond. All staff stats will be posted so you can find out about their personality in case you need to rp them.
- There is lots of stuff to do at MSU so go out and have some fun, meet new people. Go nuts!
- When we have a Horse show, Talent Show, or other animal show, then you need to first register for the show using the provided form. Then when the show runs you may post a thread for your round in the show but it's not required. Regardless I will determine if there were any faults and announce the final results of the show. It will all be done using a random generator to ensure fairness.
- The season changes every 4 months so keep your eyes out and keep the season in mind. When the season changes, try to finish up any threads you’re in with the old season and all new threads should be in the new season.
Dorm Rules
- There are 3 dorms on campus: 1 all male, 1 all female, and 1 co-ed dorm. Males are allowed in the female dorms during the day as long as they are with a female from that dorm, but staying the night is not permitted, however dorm advisors don't always catch people. The same is true for females in the male dorms. Co-ed dorms don't apply.
- Pets are allowed. But if they are easily aggravated or aggressive then they must stay in the student’s dorm room.
- You are allowed to have a roommate, but it's not required.
That's all there is for now. Updates will come soon.
Just obey the rules and we'll all have a great time!
