Feel free to send a message to Pinki if you have a question about anything you can't find here and it will be added to the list. Remember we are here to help! I promise I won't bite your head off for asking a question. Hehe. So without further ado here's the F.A.Q.'s
Q. I can't find the password in the rules. Is it even in there?
A. Yep. You just have to look harder. Try reading it all, don't skip around.
Q. Where can I find the joining form?
You can find the joining form under the joining thread. Make sure you fill it out completely.
Q. Do I have to post 200 words in all my character posts?
A. Yep. But It isn't too hard to write 200 words, Just put some detail in.
Q. Can I have a character be involved in multiple threads at the same time?
A. Sure. If you think you can handle it then all the more power to ya. Just make sure you don't get it mixed up.
Q. What season is it in the game?
A. It varies. The season changed every few months. You can find out the current season under the News and Updates column on the left.
Q. Can my character have a baby?
A. I really don't like the idea of a bunch of kids running around campus so I will allow it but only if you ask Pinki first.
Q. Do I have to have my character's live on campus?
A. Nope. If your character is in their junior year or 21 they may rent an apartment from the campus reality office. If you choose this option then make sure you specify in your joining post that that’s what you want to do.
Q. Do I have to have my character involved in horses in the game?
A. Nope, It's not a requirement, but it is encouraged since this is an equine college role-play.
Q. How would I go about becoming a staff member?
A. Check out the Staff applications thread for more info, then pm the application to Pinki.
Q. How do I know what year my student is in? (I.e. freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)
A. Well while reading your character history I go by one major feature. Their Age! This is usually the deciding factor on what class there in unless you have stated somewhere (either in their history or in a special note) that they started college late or something. Here is my general list in case you were curious.
Freshman - Ages 18-20 (starting when either 18 turning 19 or 19 turning 20)
Sophomore - Ages 19-21 (Starting when 19 turning 20, or 20 turning 21)
Junior - Ages 20-22 (Starting when 20 turning 21, or 21 turning 22)
Senior - Ages 21-23 (Starting when 21 turning 22, or 22 turning 23)
Remember that if you want your character to be a different year than their age suggests, then be sure to specify in your bio! I'm not adverse to characters starting college late or being incredibly smart and starting early. Or heck, even taking a few years off before going to college. =]
Q. Am I allowed to have ANY kind of pet in the dorm for my character?
A. Well Yes and No. I do require you to ask me if it's something uncommon just to be sure, but in general I'll probably say yes. And also No. You have to remember this is college. Dorm rooms aren't exactly huge, so brining in a tiger, full blow shark, or something equally as large and exotic is not exactly logical. But if you present your case to Pinki strongly enough, you never know. Maybe she'll say yes!
Q. Can I have a character that is high school age or younger?
A. Of course! Who am I to turn away anyone? =] There are actually 2 ways that you could go about doing this.
One would be if you wanted your character to be like super brainy, and have graduated early and now going to college early. That’s perfectly fine. All you have to do is state in their joining post that that's what is going on.
The other option is if you make your character younger would be that they are currently attending one of the 4 grade schools (1 in Maple Springs, 3 in Oakland) located in their respective boards. In which case you would also just state that in their profile including which school they are attending.
One fun thing about doing things that way is that you can have your characters literally grow up on the site. From going to grade school, then to college, and finishing off with getting a job! The possibilities are endless!
Q. Whats the deal with the animals in the store? Can i only buy animals or can I make one with my character?
A. Alright, So how this works is that when you create you character you may create up to 3 animals to go with them. Horses count with that total as well, so you may have any combination of 3 animals. (I.E. 3 horses, a dog horse and cat, a horse 2 dogs, 2 horses and a dog... etc.) Then say after playing the character for a bit you decide you'd like another animal and you have enough money. Then you can purchase one from the store. It's more of a way to keep people from having a ridiculous number of animals for someone in college. Plus it gives people something to work towards as well.
If you have any more questions go ahead and ask.
